World longboard champ and all around purveyor of surf culture, Joel Tudor is passing down his well honed knowledge of surfing to future generations. This is manifesting in many ways. He’s put out books (Surf Book), created alternative contest formats (Duct Tape Invitational), and shared his take on it all through unfiltered surf media interviews. In a recent talk with Brendon Thomas for SURFER Magazine he highlighted the significance of being well informed on surf culture and passing the torch to upcoming generations. As Tudor put it, “it’s rad to have all this knowledge. I get to share it with my kids and I hope they carry on the tradition, ’cause somebody’s got to carry it.”
