Deciding what to cut out of a film is often as critical as figuring out what to put in the finished project. It’s not unusual for the proverbial cutting room floor to be littered with quality clips and intriguing imagery that doesn’t fit into the original piece. Stringing B-sides together, as Ben Gulliver does with outtakes from The Seawolf in the edit below, is an art in itself – one that sometimes cuts deep into the raw essence of an experience. Watch Chippa Wilson, Pete Devries, Noah Cohen and Noah Wegrich taking on icy conditions in some mind-boggling settings to see a potent example.
