International Ocean Film Festival Accepting Student Film Submissions

The International Ocean Film Festival (IOFF) is currently accepting submissions from aspiring high school and middle school film makers from across the globe. So if you are a student or know a student with an interest in making movies and have an ocean based story to tell don’t miss this opportunity to create a film and land it in the spotlight.

IOFF is looking for films that are five minutes or less and focused on the following topics: Ocean Environments, Ocean Science, Ocean Wildlife, National Marine Sanctuaries, Ocean Sports, Ocean Cultures, Ocean Industries, Ocean History and Ocean Conservation issues including climate change, pollution, overfishing, marine debris

Three winners will be selected from each category – high school and middle school. Cash prizes as well as the chance to have your film screened in the International Ocean Film Festival are on offer. Go here to view official rules, requirements, and guidelines for entering your film for consideration. You can also use this link to register your film with IOFF.

The International Ocean Film Festival has been running for over 15 years. According to their website the festival, “inspires people to appreciate and care for the ocean by revealing its wonders through independent films.”

The deadline to enter a student film is January 8, 2018. So pick up your camera and get busy. We look forward to seeing what you come up with and watching your ocean based story on the big screen.

Events and contests posted on The Good Brine are subject to change. Please check directly with organizations and venues to confirm official rules and deadlines.
