Earth Day should be every day. It’s a mind bogglingly phenomenal planet. That being said, why not engage in positive environmental action on a designated date? If you’re near Ocean Beach, San Francisco on April 21, 2018 you won’t want to miss the event taking place there. Below is a break down of activities on offer and organizations making it happen:
10:00 AM to 12:00 PM – Beach Clean-Up organized by Surfrider Foundation -SF
Specific locations for the beach clean-up include Stairwell 17, Noriega Ave, and Sloat Blvd. For more details about the clean-up click here and scroll to April 21 on the Surfrider Foundation calendar.
12:00 PM – 3:00 PM – Live Music by The Carrots and Wetsuit Drive for City Surf Project
City Surf Project, a nonprofit focused on facilitating access to the ocean for San Francisco youth, is seeking youth and women’s sized wetsuits in good condition. Wetsuits in unusable condition can also be donated to Suga for the purpose of upcycling them into yoga mats.
This part of the event will take place in front of Hook Fish Co at 47th and Irving.
3:00 PM – 6:00 PM – Group Surf in front of the Beach Chalet
This part speaks for itself. Paddle out with 7.6 billion of your best friends and enjoy one of planet Earth’s greatest natural pastimes…
