As a nonprofit organization dedicated to cleaning up and preserving coastal areas, Save The Waves is about more than simply preserving surf spots. As it states on their website, “Save The Waves protects coastal ecosystems around the world in partnership with local communities, utilizing a unique combination of protected areas, economics, and direct action.”
With proactive conservation as a goal, Save The Waves recently launched “The Dirty Waves Challenge.” The idea is to empower and reward the public by offering an easily accessible system for documenting, reporting, and sharing information about polluted areas.
