Paring down your quiver to one surfboard is a tough but intriguing theoretical challenge. Given today’s incredible range of surfboard design though, it’s entirely possible to dream up a board with versatile enough capabilities to handle most reasonably scaled conditions (Hayden Shapes’ Hypto Krypto, Lost’s Quiver Killer, or maybe an MR fish come to mind). Manifesting this fantasy, however is a tricky call. What minimalist item do you actually stuff in your bag before setting out to traverse the globe? If you’re Rob Machado (and I can only assume he has about a million surfboards at his disposal) it’s a 5’2″ x 20″ x 2 1/4 self-shaped swallow tail wonderkind.
