A while back the Gudauskas brothers, Dane, Patrick, and Tanner ran a successful surfboard drive for Jamaica. Through their nonprofit Positive Vibe Warriors, they connected a burgeoning surf scene with a much needed supply of equipment, disseminating massive amounts of international stoke along the way. And now the trio is back at it – this time collecting and distributing surfboards for youth in South Africa.
The concept is simple and progressive. They’re gathering water tight surfboards throughout the month of September for the sake of supporting a great cause. As it states on the Positive Vibe Warriors website, “The donated surfboards will be going to benefit Waves For Change and the Surfers Not Street Children organizations in South Africa that provide safe spaces, caring mentors and a provision of weekly surf therapy sessions to give vulnerable children the skills to cope with stress, build healing relationships and make positive life choices.”
So why not get involved, give your old board a new life, and support kids who truly need it? For more inspiration check out the following footage of the Gudauskas brothers in action on the South African coast presented by Surfer Magazine.
