Just up from Ocean Beach in SF, the tenth annual Outside Lands music festival is set to jump off August 11-13, 2017. While the beach is sure to be overcrowded by music going revelers, the event itself will be worthwhile. Some of the headlining acts include Metallica, The Who, Gorillaz, Lorde, and A Tribe Called Quest.
Along with amazing musical acts there will be visual art based events all weekend long. Live painting, on-site installations, stage art and displays of paintings from previous years are some of the highlights to look for.
Among the artists painting live, Ian Ross and Max Ehrman will be creating work on Saturday August 12. Ross is known for spraying kinetic murals that incorporate urban and nature based themes inspired by Bay Area geography. Max Ehrman is also a muralist, working in the Bay Area who tends towards surreal landscape imagery.
