Indoek and Think Tank Gallery in Los Angeles will be hosting a one-night photography exhibition fundraiser benefiting Surfrider Foundation on Thursday January 12, 2017. The concept behind the show is intriguing – give a single-use camera with 27 exposures to established photographers, have them fire off all 27 frames, and submit the camera to curators at Indoek for image selection and presentation on their website.
Some of the photographers who have work in the show include Grant Ellis, Todd Glaser, Chris Burkard, Mark Mcinnis, Daniel Russo and Matt Clark (Matt Clark was featured in the most recent SURFER Magazine for his unique portrayals of the North Atlantic shoreline) among others.
According to their website, “Indoek is a surf-centric blog celebrating a unique and independent flavor of wave-riding culture and the characters, stories, art, organizations and brands that swim in it. We also mix it up with a heavy dose of all things creative, inspiring and thought provoking.”
Think Tank Gallery is a collective of artists who are “interested in using their unique and immersive space to influence their work, and while this comes naturally to the now-20 artists who work within the space, the focus is even heavier when presenting larger and further-reaching art shows. Everything from group shows to fashion shows to musical perfomances have all defined the space, each event adding another layer to our canvas.”
The exhibition is sponsored by Zico Coconut water.
